The Republican mayor of Midland City, Alabama didn’t take losing her seat to a black candidate this week very well. On Facebook, someone asked Mayor Patsy Capshaw Skipper how the election turned out. Skipper’s response was to go full-blown racist in her post. “I lost. The ni**er won,” Skipper wrote.
Skipper was defeated by Jo Ann Bennett Grimsley, who has a healthy resume, according WTVY.
Grimsley was originally an assistant city clerk in the small city, a water clerk, and court clerk for Midland City. In total, she has worked for the county for 27 years.
“I wear many hats,” said Grimsley. “And I know I’m going to make a good mayor for all the people, not for some, all the people of midland city, because I love my community and I love midland city and all the people that’s here.”
After Skipper’s husband, former Mayor Virgil Skipper, retired last February his wife was named as interim mayor.
Voters, however, preferred Grimsley on election day. 233 votes were cast for Grimsley, Skipper received 148 votes and a third candidate received 59 votes.
As a shock to no one ever, Skipper is a conservative Christian, as can be seen from her Facebook page which is apparently now locked down.
Raw Story reports:
Skipper appears to have made her Facebook timeline private, but posts from 2015 are visible. She posted various pro-Christian and pro-Republican memes, including an image of the White House that reads “I want a White House that honors God. Share if you agree!” and another with a quote by Republican former Pres. Ronald Reagan that reads, “We are never defeated unless we give up on God. Share if you agree!”
Here is the image of this nice lady’s ‘Christian’ Facebook post:
“My Facebook has been messed up for several weeks and I haven’t been using it,” Skipper told the Dothan Eagle. “I think I’ve been hacked.”
But, someone sure did change the setting to private really quickly.
