At the fire department in Busti, NY, a mere five miles from the shores of Chautauqua Lake, Rep. Tom Reed from New York’s 23rd District had no idea what was about to hit him. Reed went on a tour of town hall meetings with his constituents Saturday morning. Though his first stop in Dunkirk was full of protest signs instead of the happy faces he’d hoped to see, nothing could possibly have prepared him for a confrontation with voters like he saw at the fire hall on Mill Road, in a town of just 7,300 people. It must have felt like every one of them was there, but one lady stole the show.
The Dunkirk meet-up saw plenty of furious voters, to be sure, and Rep. Reed even tweeted some pictures:
But subsequent tweets took a different angle — literally. Both pictures on Reed’s Twitter at the Busti stop showed his constituents from the back. Too many signs? Too many red faces?
Stop two of three for our town hall meetings. Thanks to all who joined me in Busti. pic.twitter.com/AfDDFn77gY

Nope. I’m betting Tom was still shaken by the verbal beatdown he took from this Air Force veteran, captured on video by ABC News:

This woman, who has yet to be identified, just explained single-payer health care better than Bernie Sanders ever could, and she did it in less than a minute. Rep. Reed tried to fire back with the same old bullshit Republicans always counter with:
I appreciate your belief, that you believe government can take care of this for all of us.”
But like a boss, this woman shut him down with a brief lesson on how single-payer works — something it seems every Republican who voted for this disaster of a “health care” bill could stand to hear.
Now that the GOP has advanced Trumpcare through the House, the Senate will take it up and try to turn it into something they can vote for as well. Hopefully the Republican Senators who want to score the same political points with their base as their House counterparts will see this video and shake a little bit in their black Italian oxfords.
Somebody put a cape on this woman and fly her to D.C.

Andrew hates long walks on the beach, glitter, and men’s rights activists. He can usually be found with his long-suffering wife, who can usually be found asking him to please not order onions on that burger, babe.
