Bernie Sanders just brought a giant tweet from Donald Trump to the Senate floor – and everyone is talking about it.
The tweet called out Trump and the entire Republican Party for deceiving the American people – given the campaign promises he ran on.
Trump stated during the GOP primary:
“I was the first & only potential GOP candidate to state there will be no cuts to Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid. Huckabee copied me.”

Yet – the Republican Party, since winning control of both the House and the Senate, has repeatedly stated that they intend on making cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. If Trump lives up to his word, he will have to veto them. But – the thing is – Trump has already indicated he is willing to go along with them.
Bernie is calling Trump out to admit he was lying the whole time.
“Millions of people voted for him on the belief that he would keep his word.
If he was sincere, then I would hope that tomorrow or maybe today he could send out a tweet and tell his Republican colleagues to stop wasting their time and all of our time. And for Mr. Trump to tell the American people that he will veto any proposal that cuts Medicare, that cuts Medicaid or that cuts Social Security.
Trump didn’t just say this in passing. He didn’t say it in the middle of the night. He didn’t say it in a particular interview. This was a cornerstone of his campaign. He said it over and over and over again.”
