Establishment Republicans everywhere just felt a cold chill move down their spines. The reason why is because Bernie Sanders just endorsed Hillary Clinton, bringing unity to the party that is going to crush them in 2016.
Speaking at a joint rally alongside Hillary, Bernie made it crystal clear that he is endorsing Hillary Clinton and he will do everything he can to make sure she becomes President.
I have come here today not to talk about the past but to focus on the future.”
“I have come here today to make it as clear as possible as to why I am endorsing Hillary Clinton, and why she must become out next President.”
“This campaign is about the needs of the American people, and addressing the very serious crises that we face. There is no doubt in my mind that as we head into November Hillary Clinton is far and away the best candidate to do that.
Bernie touched on nearly every plank of his own presidential platform, drawing comparisons to the same ideals that Hillary had in hers and showing that this election is about a vote for progress, rather than a vote for an individual. Or, as Bernie has said many times in the past, “Not ‘Me’ … ‘Us'”.
We have come a long way in the last 7 1/2 years and I thank President Obama and vice President Biden for their leadership in pulling us out of that terrible recession. But, I think we can all agree that much, much more needs to be done. Too many Americans are still being left out, left behind, and ignored. In the richest country in the world there is too much poverty and too much despair. Hillary Clinton understands that we must fix an economy in America that is rigged for the top one percent. She believes – we all believe – that we must raise the minimum wage to a living wage. I intend to do everything I can to ensure that Hillary Clinton becomes President.
While Bernie acknowledged the differences held between himself and Hillary Clinton, he also made sure that his supporters knew it wasn’t “over” for them. He explained how the two campaigns had a “coming together” in which they quietly worked out many agreements to bring Bernie’s agenda to the forefront of the 2016 election. Bernie himself said that it was “by far the most progressive platform in the history of the Democratic party.”
Bernie ended with an implied message directed at Republicans, letting them know that their hopes for a divided Democratic party just went belly up because he won’t be taking a break for the rest of the 2016 campaign season.
I intend to be in every corner of this country to make that happen. Hillary Clinton will make an outstanding President and I am proud to stand here with her today.
And there it was. July of 2016 was the month that the entire Republican party simultaneously got screwed as Trump sank them into what will be the most embarrassing presidential defeat since Mondale.
