Donald Trump has created a national firestorm by claiming that the election is “rigged” for Hillary Clinton.
Time and time again, the Republican nominee has insisted that mass election fraud exists in this country despite the fact that study after study has found that voter fraud is exceedingly rare in our country.
But conservatives are desperate to prove that Trump is right. So desperate, in fact, that they are literally citing prank stories as evidence that voter fraud is real.
Just in the past week alone, conservative websites like Drudge and Gateway Pundit, along with conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh have fallen for two such pranks.
On Sunday, a Twitter user claimed to be a postal worker and said he routinely rips up absentee ballots of people who vote for Donald Trump. Well, conservatives immediately went nuts and shared the tweet widely as proof that Democrats are rigging the election. Only the United States Postal Service investigated and found that the remark was not made by an employee. Oops.
Then a comedian posted an image of himself surrounded by his so-called fake IDs captioned “ready to make Hillary president.”
Once again, conservatives cried foul and used the image as proof of liberal duplicity. That is, until the image was debunked as a mere photoshop job meant to make conservatives look like complete fools.
But a third prank that goes far beyond the two above involves a car with a bunch of Trump stickers on it. Racist YouTube prankster Joey Salads put the car in an alleged black neighborhood to see what happens. Only minutes later, some black men start destroying the vehicle.
Conservatives immediately spread the story like wildfire, claiming that black people are violent Trump haters.
Here are some racist comments conservatives posted in response.
But the video was quickly debunked in the following video.
Salads himself even apologized for the video and admitted it was fake.
Seriously, conservatives are idiots.
