Donald Trump’s repeated attacks on the New York Times only drives their subscriptions up, but the former reality show star lacks critical thinking skills so he’s about to inadvertently give the paper some more business. During the final presidential debate, Trump called Hillary Clinton a “nasty woman” but he’s very talented at projection. Trump is a nasty woman. I meant man. Geez.
Trump has gone from reportedly considering shaking up his staff with Sean Spicer’s job possibly on the line, as well as others. The alleged billionaire is known for never taking the blame for his own self-inflicted problems, mostly his mountain of scandals which are engulfing his ‘presidency’ in such a short time. Typically, Trump lashes out at the press on Twitter, but lately, he just gives them short answers to questions and moves on.
The Washington Examiner reports:
Insiders said it is driven by Trump who was angered by a New York Times story predicting a staff shake-up that included dumping spokesman Sean Spicer. It was headlined: Looking Like a Liar or a Fool: What It Means to Work for Trump.
“Fuck the New York Times,” Trump said. “They’re not our friends. We’re never going to win them over,” he added, according to a Trump insider.
The insider added that the goal to have staffers offer just short answers to reporters “is to get across to the public that the media are assholes.”
The paper adds that there are reports that the White House is considering trimming back on daily briefings, and we’ve heard Trump express this desire himself on Twitter, but this is intended as a move to get tough with the media.
Trump and his team launched a war on the media and the intelligence community. Both of those entities are fighting back. Even an amateur would have used better judgment than that. You don’t “Make America Great Again” by attacking the first Amendment.
Prediction: Democracy will eventually move on Trump “like a bitch” until he’s impeached, or resigns.
