Donald Trump once gave singer Wayne Newton what he calls “the best advice I’ve ever gotten in my life.” Newton says he and Trump, who have known each other for more years than they’d care to admit, have had a longstanding friendship and that he trusts Donald because, go figure, he always tells you what’s on his mind.
As it turns out, Wayne Newton belongs in the Basket of deplorables. Here’s the Michael Bolton of the 70’s in a minute or so of absolutely useless airtime on Fox and Friends:

Such a great man. Such good advice. Such a hypocritical load of nonsense coming from him.
Yes, that may be great advice, but is it something the king of all lawsuits practices himself? Trump has been involved in 3500 lawsuits over his personal and business dealings over the years, which sounds nothing like a guy who finds it prudent to talk out his problems. Maybe he should have clarified what he meant.
It’s quite possible that Trump thought Newton was talking about someone who had done some for him that he didn’t feel like paying. Those seem to be the disputes Trump solves without lawyers. What he does is call the person he’s screwing, tell them he’s screwing them, threaten to use his million dollar lawyers if they don’t allow themselves to be screwed by him and then screws them again by not bothering to pay the amount they agreed to be screwed with the first time.
It really isn’t difficult to understand why Trump and Newton are friends. Newton tried his hand in the hotel business — only to end up in bankruptcy — and has spent enough time in court to take on a second job as a stenographer. They’re made for each other.
Sorry, Wayne…Your glowing endorsement of an asshole isn’t going to change my vote, but I still think you were great in Vegas Vacation.
