Republican National Convention lackeys are in a big hurry to replace signs that say “White Elevators” at the RNC. In the vast amount of hours leading up to the preparation for the event, the inappropriateness of the signs and the phrase somehow went unnoticed by every single person that saw them.
I can’t imagine how SO many Republicans, high-level ones included, saw these signs and never had it occur to them that “White Elevators” sounded clueless at best. I mean … what quality could all these people share that makes these signs seem like no big deal?
It took Byron Tau, a Wall Street Journal reporter, to point out the obviously terrible idea that this was to every single living soul that was already aware of them and thought they were just fine.

Requests for comment by the New York Daily News both to the Trump campaign and the RNC organizers themselves have gone ignored. They can stall all they want. There’s not going to be a good answer for this one.
It’s not entirely clear why these were hung in the first place. Details on whether or not there was a special designation for certain elevators, resulting in some color code, were not able to be determined since the GOP has gone into radio silence on the matter.
This may be a bit of a shock, but the White Elevators thing might not actually be racist. I know what you’re thinking — “But they’re Republicans, of couuuuurse it’s racist.” Hear me out, though.
The Republican agenda for 2016 includes declaring internet porn a “public health crisis” and forcing the creation of America’s first state-religion by mandating the Bible be taught as a factual historical document that was intimately involved in the creation of the United States of America. They might just be too stupid to have realized how offensive the elevator signs were.
Then again, the fact that former KKK leader David Duke backs Donald may make them just a teeny bit racist. Duke has already told his followers if they don’t vote Trump they’re committing treason against their white heritage. Maybe Republicans had to throw them a bone, even if it meant having to take the signs down right away once they were “caught” by the press.
