Donald Trump wants to tell everybody how much he loves our military and he keeps promising that he is going to take great care of our veterans. But a blast from the past shows how trump really feels about America’s disabled vets and it is downright disgraceful.
In 1991, Trump wrote a letter to the New York State legislature asking them to ban street vendors who hold special disabled veteran’s licenses from in front of his tacky Trump Tower.
While disabled veterans should be given every opportunity to earn a living, is it fair to do so to the detriment of the city as a whole or its tax paying citizens and businesses?”
“Do we allow Fifth Avenue, one of the world’s finest and most luxurious shopping districts, to be turned into an outdoor flea market, clogging and seriously downgrading the area?”
Well gee, that surely doesn’t sound like a man who loves our veterans. But hey, maybe it was just a one-time rant, right? Nope. Just kidding. We’re talking about Trump, remember? In 2004 he wrote another letter, this time to Mayor Mike Bloomberg, in which he continued to whine that disabled veterans shouldn’t be allowed to try to feed themselves by working as street vendors.
Whether they are veterans or not, they [the vendors] should not be allowed to sell on this most important and prestigious shopping street,” Trump said.
“The image of New York City will suffer… I hope you can stop this very deplorable situation before it is too late.”
Once again, Trump is full of sh*t and the very people he promised to help are the ones he detests the most. Despite all his promises on the campaign trail, this is what he really thinks of disabled veterans. Sure, they’re great — as long as he doesn’t have to look at them. Trump is a disgusting human being on every level and day after day he continues to prove that he lacks even a single redeeming quality. Sad!
