House Speaker Paul Ryan attempted to capitalize on the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email servers by demanding that the presumptive Democratic nominee be denied classified briefings — but it didn’t quite work out so well for him.
Saying it is “necessary to reassure the public that our nation’s secrets are secure” but really meaning that it would be a way to hurt Clinton politically, Ryan formally requested last Wednesday that Clinton not receive the same briefings that are handed to Donald Trump (think about that). But just like the FBI, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told Ryan that his agency won’t be joining Republicans in this disgusting and absurd attack on Clinton
“Nominees for president and vice president receive these briefings by virtue of their status as candidates, and do not require separate security clearances before the briefings,” Clapper wrote in a letter to Ryan. “Briefings for the candidates will be provided on an even-handed non-partisan basis.”
In other words, “Go f*ck yourself and slink back into the sewer where you belong.”
Clapper told Ryan in no uncertain terms that he “does not intend to withhold briefings from any officially nominated, eligible candidate” — not even Trump, who possible presidency has been declared one of the top 10 global economic risks, and who is such an extremist that any Republican with any sense at all doesn’t want anything to do with him, his campaign, or even the party’s national convention.
Try as they may, Republicans can’t seem to defeat Clinton. November will be no different.
