Ivanka Trump has been getting tons of backlash since her father Donald Trump was elected President of the United States, and much of it has been because of her hypocritical stance on women’s rights, and her “complicit” actions when it comes to her father’s vile history with women.
In the past, Ivanka has positioned herself as a champion of women’s rights — a stance which stood in stark contrast to the positions and misogynistic behavior of her father. And yet, Ivanka continued to publicly support and defend her dad, despite knowing about all of his misconduct and sexist ideas. Perhaps this is why Ivanka made such a big change to her Twitter profile recently — a change that she is already regretting.
Ivanka recently updated her Twitter bio and it’s not going over very well. Apparently, Ivanka may have given a second thought to advocating for women’s rights, as she deleted the line about her being an “advocate for the education and empowerment of women and girls” over the weekend. Ivanka’s Twitter bio originally said this:
Wife, mother, sister, daughter. Entrepreneur & advocate for the education and empowerment of women & girls. This is my personal page. Views expressed are my own.”
And now, Ivanka’s new bio says this:
Wife, mother, sister, daughter. Advisor to POTUS on job creation + economic empowerment, workforce development & entrepreneurship. Personal Pg. Views are my own.”
That’s a VERY different message. No one knows what prompted Ivanka to make this change, but it’s certainly disappointing. Not to mention, it’s quite suspicious that Ivanka would do this on the same weekend that women from all over the world were protesting the Trump administration’s misogyny during the second annual Women’s March.
As expected, Twitter noticed this right away and called Ivanka right out for deleting the part about being an advocate for women and girls. What else did she expect would happen? Here are some of the responses:
Ivanka is more complicit than ever now — and she deserves all the criticism she’s going to get for this.
