George Zimmerman just had his hopes for another huge payday destroyed by an appeals court.
Zimmerman had filed suit against NBC, claiming that an audio clip from the 911 call before he murdered Trayvon Martin was edited by the network to make it seem like Zimmerman was stalking Martin because of his skin color. NBC had initially reported that it sounded as if Zimmerman was calling Martin a “coon” during the 911 call, as he stalked the unarmed Martin up till the point where he confronted and murdered him.
George Zimmerman planned to make this lawsuit a really big payday for him and other minority murdering individuals, like Ferguson’s Darren Wilson who murdered unarmed black teenager Mike Brown.
Judge Debra S. Nelson ruled last year:
There are no genuine issues of material fact upon which a reasonable jury could find that the Defendants acted with actual malice.”
The court that took the appeal to Judge Nelson’s ruling did not elaborate on why they threw out the case. With this it seems the days of George Zimmerman’s self-described victimhood have come to an end.
Zimmerman was under the delusion that the lawsuit was a sure thing, and he expected to receive a tremendous windfall from the winnings. He seems to have something of a bromance with Darren Wilson and had been tweeting recently how he fantasized about buying him a new home and car with a portion of his winnings.
Wilson gained his infamy by killing unarmed black teenager Mike Brown and was subsequently cleared of all wrongdoing, sparking protests in Missouri and other states that ultimately evolved into the Black Lives Matter social justice campaign.
Other fantasies of Zimmerman’s that were crushed to pieces, were paying back the supporters he fleeced for hundreds of thousands of dollars in “legal fees,” to getting a new assault rifle.
As of Dec 3rd, it seems Zimmerman got the word that his lawsuit was a bust, and he will have to find other options to fulfill his fantasy of buying more guns.
It’s good to see that being a racist is becoming slightly less profitable in America, even if only in this one particular case.
