Donald Trump and his team are unraveling right before our very eyes. As Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation threatens to destroy the Trump administration just ten months into its role, Trump and his advisors are falling apart and the pressure is starting to really show.
Earlier today, Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway had a ridiculous meltdown during an interview with CNN’s Brian Stelter, in which the Trump mouthpiece grew extremely hostile and combative because Stelter wouldn’t let her change the subject or lie through her teeth.
During the interview, Stelter brought up the fact that Trump’s approval rating was historically and “shockingly low,” and that the White House had a huge credibility crisis right now as the majority of Americans stated that they don’t trust Trump or his administration. Conway, of course, tried to spin this a different way, and she completely unraveled on live television.
Conway tried to divert away from what she called Stelter’s “hyperbolic” statement and started to brag about Trump’s economic “accomplishments” (which are actually thanks to former president Barack Obama). When Stelter brought up the fact that the American people were not convinced that Trump was responsible for the current economic success, Conway grew hostile and continued to take shots at CNN throughout the interview by attacking the network’s ratings and stating that she was giving the “facts first.” Conway also went after CNN for being anti-Trump and urged Stelter to “Just own it.”
Stelter shot back and criticized Conway for attacking the network just because it refused to ignore the very obvious faults of Trump:
“I understand that you don’t want an adversarial media. I guess you just want everybody to be like Fox News, state-run media.”
Then, in a line that could have been written by Trump himself (and probably was), Conway replied by accusing CNN of being “jealous” of conservative network Fox News. Conway issued this hilarious statement:
“That’s not true. Stop being so jealous of Fox News, Brian, and their ratings.”
The interesting thing here is that Trump and Fox News have an awful lot in common – they’re both extremely unpopular, failing, and well-known for lying!
The entire interview with Conway and Stelter is absolutely entertaining, and you can tell that Stelter got under Conway’s skin by the way she continued to come unhinged. You can watch it below:
