Richard Nixon is easily the shadiest president America has seen in modern history, or perhaps ever. However, his lies and corruption might be eclipsed by incoming president-elect Donald Trump. Nixon’s own lawyer has a few words to say about Trump – none of them good.
John Dean knows a thing or two about crookedness and lying, so it is REALLY saying something when he, the man who tried to keep Richard Nixon out of trouble, takes to Twitter to scold Trump. Dean tweeted:
“It is deeply troubling when you realize that the president-elect generally does not know what he is talking about.”
“And when he does he lies.”

Alongside Dean, more GOP types are putting their country before their party and calling out Trump for insulting and undermining United States intelligence agencies and their members in an effort to defend Russia and Vladimir Putin. Matthew Dowd, who helped run George W. Bush’s 2004 campaign for re-election tweeted the following regarding Trump and Russia:
“Lets be clear: U aren’t an American patriot & don’t respect Constitution if u believe Putin more than our President and intelligent services.”

These people and others are correct. Trump’s behavior is downright disturbing, and it makes one wonder what he has in store for the nation for the next four years. He seems to be terribly ill-informed, and also an outright liar. What Trump is doing right now borders on treason, and he needs to do like other elected Republicans are doing and support President Obama’s punishments for Russia’s hacking into our election, accept what happened and why, and defend his country, as the oath of office he is about to take demands. If he cannot do that, he’s got no business taking that oath in the first place.
