The Republican Governor of Maine recently got so pissed off at being called a “racist” that he left a profanity-filled voicemail for Democratic Rep. Drew Gattine. In it, he said to “prove that I’m a racist.” Mission accomplished, thank you very much.
LePage (R) said, “the enemy” in his home state is overwhelmingly made up of people of color just after denying that Maine police officers were racially profiling people.
The Huffington Post reports:
Then the governor suggested that people of color in Maine were ‘the enemy.’
“Look, a bad guy is a bad guy, I don’t care what color it is. When you go to war, if you know the enemy, the enemy dresses in red and you dress in blue, you shoot at red, don’t you?” he said. “You shoot at the enemy. You try to identify the enemy. And the enemy right now, the overwhelming majority right now coming in are people of color or people of Hispanic origin. I can’t help that. I just can’t help it. Those are the facts.”

In the voicemail LePage left the Democratic lawmaker, he challenged him to a duel over being called a racist, even though Gattine didn’t use that particular word to describe the racist Governor. Then, like Governors do, he called him a “socialist cocksucker.”
“You … I need you to, just friggin. I want you to record this and make it public because I am after you,” he added. Now that his wish is fulfilled and it’s now “public,” LePage admitted that he crossed the line, then blamed political correctness for not doing something about the drug epidemic in his state.
In January, LePage blamed out-of-state drug dealers who he said were impregnating “young white” girls. He didn’t stop there. The Maine Governor blamed men with names like “D-Money, Smoothie, and Shifty.”
The Portland Press Herald wrote yesterday, “Dear America: Maine here. Please forgive us – we made a terrible mistake. We managed to elect and re-elect a governor who is unfit for high office.”
Mmkay, but could you not reelect the Trump-supporting racist, please?
