It doesn’t take a genius to know that whatever the hell is going on in Donald Trump’s White House is BAD. Over the last few weeks the Trump administration has seen a purge like nothing ever experienced before, and it’s signaling the downfall of Trump’s horrific leadership.
Trump and his team have been trying to insist that nothing is wrong — even as people are leaving in droves and Trump’s scandals threaten to sink the ship. The Trump administration’s denial of all this has gotten so insane that MSNBC couldn’t stand by any longer and brutally called out the president earlier today.
Addressing the fact that the White House has just suffered a massive purge of staffers, MSNBC anchor Katy Tur railed into the president and accurately placed all blame on him. Tur said:
Everything is totally fine at the White House, don’t mind the historic staff turnover or the policy clashes or the porn star suing the president. There’s nothing to see here.”
“Why all the trouble attracting and keeping advisers, strategists and big thinkers? It could be the president’s erratic policy making, the fear of being drawn into the Mueller investigation, or the demands of loyalty from a leader who doesn’t respond in kind. Not exactly selling points for high quality hires.”
To make her point, Tur displayed a graphic that shows just how devastating the staffing crisis is – and it’s kind of shocking to see it laid out like this:
Tur also called Trump out for his lies:
So our big question of the day is, ‘who wants to be a White House staffer?’ The president says anyone he wants. The reporting shows that’s not exactly true.”
Associated Press White House correspondent Jonathan Lemire offered this explanation:
Certainly the Mueller probe is a big part of this, it hovers over the entire West Wing. People inside are worried about legal exposure and mounting legal bills, if it comes to that. It is a tough environment in there, all the reporting we’ve done, morale is an all-time low, there are people in there doing three or four jobs at once and wearing down.”
Tur reminded everyone that Trump had several vacancies to begin with, which he never took the time or care to address:
Still so many other open positions that have never been filled.”
Former White House press secretary Josh Earnest also blamed Trump for his empty staff positions and said:
President Trump does not treat his staff well, he publicly embarrasses them and undermines them. So if you know you’re going to get criticized or undermined by your boss before you even get there, and once you get there you’re not likely to have influence on the process, then why would you even go?”
The White House is going to have a hell of a hard time covering this up and trying to pretend that things aren’t falling apart after this. You can watch the brutal segment below:
