Gary Johnson is working very hard to ensure a record low embrace of the Libertarian party by new voters, with a climate change solution that is, in every way, literally out of this world.
His solution? Moving to another planet. Windmills and solar panels are too expensive and too far-fetched a solution, but we can totally just pick up and move humanity in total to a brand new planet where the temperature is A-OK.
I do jest just a little. I’m not anti-marijuana. However, you have to ask just where in the hell Gary is coming from with this stuff. First, his solution to climate change is to ignore it because the sun will “encompass the earth” one day — meaning climate change is “in our future” billions of years from now.
Then, after he gets mocked for that one, he double-dumbs down and goes all Star Trek (great show, not making fun of it at all in this context). Honestly, why would anyone vote for this stuff? It has to be a bad joke, right?
That’s the real joke. It isn’t one. This really is the essence of the Libertarian party. Republicans are dumb, but Libertarians are Republicans who are too dumb to be Republicans. Let that sink in just a bit.
