On Wednesday’s episode of The Rachel Maddow Show, our favorite MSNBC host pointed out how pathetic Trump’s support within the GOP is. While Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has the current president, current first lady, insanely popular senators and others holding their own events to campaign for her, Trump has just him and Mike Pence. Maddow simultaneously made the Trump Campaign look sad and pathetic, while also brilliantly calling the Republican Party out for not supporting the monster they created. And just hours after her show aired, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan was forced into action.
The Wisconsin representative put out a press release announcing that he would be attending the “Annual Fall Fest in Walworth County”:
And looky there! He won’t be alone! Buried three paragraphs into the press release Ryan’s office mentions that Donald Trump will be attending the event with him. Haha.
Ryan, who waited as long as he could to endorse Trump and who is often forced to “defend” the bombastic orange blob, has now been forced to attend an event with him. This will be the first time Ryan has been seen on the campaign trail with his party’s openly racist candidate and it’s looking a lot like it was thanks to Rachel. The Speaker will probably deny this is the case, but what a coincidence, right? Just hours after she slammed the GOP for being cowards, Ryan lets the country know that he will be attending an event with him? That smells very, very fishy.
What’s even more hilarious about this is that we all know the reason Ryan has avoided Trump is because he knows that the “billionaire” is toxic. Trump is destroying the party within and as much as lawmakers like Ryan try to stomp the racist genie back in the bottle they can’t. It’s a beautiful sight to see.
