Donald Trump is having one hell of a start to his week. Not only did the Tweeter in Chief kick off his Monday by firing his new communications director, Anthony Scaramucci (a mere 10 days after hiring him), but a secret conversation about his future has just been revealed, and it’s not very good.
On Monday, economist and former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich shared a private conversation that he’d had with a Republican that shows exactly how bad things are in the White House regardless of how many times Trump tweets “no chaos”.
In a Facebook post, Reich spoke about a phone conversation he’d had with his Republican colleague that morning, in which the two men agreed that the White House was crumbling and taking the GOP down with it. Reich’s Republican friend laughed and said, “We’re officially in a banana republic.” And there were several more unflattering things about Trump said by the former conservative Congress member.
“They’re convinced Trump is out of his gourd. Remember what I told you at the start of this circus? They planned to use Trump’s antics for cover, to get done what they most wanted – big tax cuts, rollbacks of regulations, especially financial. They’d work with Pence behind the scenes and forget the crazy uncle in the attic.”
Because the Republican Party is aware that Trump might cost them 2018 and 2020, they’re strategizing against him. The Republican said, “They want him out [of] there,” stating that they’re hoping Robert Mueller will come up with a “smoking gun.” And if somehow Trump is still sticking around by 2020, the Republican Party has full intention of getting someone to run against him.
“Lots of maneuvering already. Pence, obviously. Cruz thinks he has a shot.”
The former Congress member also revealed what many of us already know – that Trump is also “going totally bananas” with “paranoia.” He said:
“You want to know why he fired [Reince] Priebus, wants Sessions out, and is now gunning for Tillerson? The way I hear it, he thinks they’ve been plotting against him.”
“It’s ludicrous. Sessions is a loyal lapdog. [Rex] Tillerson doesn’t know where the bathroom is. That’s my point. Trump is fritzing out. Having manic delusions. He’s actually going nuts… it’s downright dangerous.”
Reich’s Republican source also warned that it might not be long before Washington as a whole knows that Trump is “flipping out.” In fact, things are so bad that he made a startling prediction for Trump’s future:
“I don’t mean just weird. I mean really off his rocker. They don’t have to plot against him. It will be obvious to everyone that he’s got to go. That’s where the twenty-fifth amendment really does comes in … But he’s losing it fast. My betting is he’s out of office before the midterms. And Pence is president.”
Looks like we might not have to deal with Trump much longer. You can read all the details in Reich’s post below:
