Steve Radack, who is Precinct 3 Commissioner in Harris County Texas, was at an assembly where he was addressing an audience full of victims from the recent floods in the Lone Star state. While speaking to the people gathered, he had the gall to tell them that he thought some of those in attendance enjoyed the fact that floodwaters destroyed their homes and lives, because that would allow them to “cash in” on the natural disaster.
Frankly, over the years, and the many years I’ve been doing this… they frankly enjoy floods. They’d like to see a flood about every 7 years, because they want new cars, they want their homes redone.”
Radack? More like Radick, if you ask me. It’s beyond belief that when a natural disaster strikes an area, the first thing that comes to a Republican’s mind isn’t “Oh my God we have to help these poor people!” — But rather it’s “Oh my God these freeloaders are enjoying this because it means they get new stuff for free!”
It isn’t even like these people are non-Texans, far away in a blue liberal state like California where he can make fun of them and nobody at home will care. These are the actual people in his own state and home area he’s berating. WTF?
I know flooding is tragic, I’ve dealt with it for more than two decades. There are people who take advantage of FEMA money and then there are people who tragically need the FEMA money, but they don’t have the insurance.”
Let’s remember something important. It doesn’t freakin’ matter if they get free stuff or not because a flood washed away everything they had and they need help. It also doesn’t matter if it’s from their own insurance or FEMA money. It doesn’t matter because the people didn’t make it flood. It happened, and they need help, and we will help them because that’s what we do in this country.
It takes a particularly sick mind to come up with the ideas that Republicans do on a regular basis. When you see a family, hurting and suffering because of a natural disaster, and your first thought is to make sure they aren’t “faking it,” you’re simply a mentally ill individual.
It’s a new form of economic sadism. Republicans enjoy hurting people and judging people because they love God so much they want to play him on earth. Isn’t there a commandment about that very thing? Something about no other gods before me? I’m sure that also includes the unspoken clause “even if that god is yourself in your own mind.”
