Well, here we are with another gift wrapped turd straight from the NRA. Local cowboy wannabe and racist jackass, Bryan Oedzes, decided that he’d use acutal flying bullets as his preferred method of helping a black man stay out of the street and safe from oncoming traffic, when he encountered one outside of a restaurant.
Clearly, his approach was reasonable. Black people are not in their natural environment in or around restaurants, so he just had to be up to no good. Right? One of Oedzes’ excuses for why he shot at him, was to make sure he got out of the street. Obviously, he didn’t want him to get hit by a car which means he was still correct in acting the way he did. Oedzes also said he needed to shoot because he felt “threatened” by him.
Oedzes claims he has multiple sclerosis, which makes him unable to defend himself. This put him in fear for his life as a scary black guy came within visual range. Opening with a shout of,”You need to get the (expletive) out of here. You don’t belong here,” then hurling a racial slur — according to police reports — Oedzes tried to shoo away the pesky black person, to no avail.
Feeling more terrified than ever before in his life, Oedzes drew his gun on the poor guy and started threatening him further before firing a “warning shot” at the man. When the black man saw the gun and heard the shot, he immediately started running away with his hands up in the air.
No, really. That was his excuse for doing it. He felt threatened by a person walking in the street, so his first reaction was to begin shooting at him after calling him probably the N-word. It was probably a lot like the old west. You know how they’d shoot at your feet and yell DANCE? In this case, he shot at the guy so the air disturbance gave him the gentlest of nudges to steer him safely out of both the street and Oedzes’ safe space.
Oedzes’ found a lawyer desperate or dumb enough to try to make his case for him, and said that he wants to “let the facts play out” in court. Something tells me that when this happens, they aren’t going to play out well for Oedzes.
