Donald Trump has been taking jabs at Hillary Clinton for accepting money from Saudi Arabia through her foundation, but the GOP presidential candidate is about to learn something about glass houses and stones. Also, projection. Donald has been taking in money from the same country.
Lots of money.
Trump sold the 45th floor of Trump World Tower to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for $4.5 million in June 2001, according to a city Finance Department spokeswoman. In 2008, the apartments became part of the Saudi Mission to the United Nations, records show.
The five apartments included 10 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms at the time of the sale, and had yearly common charges of $85,585 for building amenities, documents obtained by The News show. If those common charges remain the same, Trump was paid at least $5.7 million by the Saudi government since 2001.
Rebecca Ocampo, 67, said that she helped broker the deal between Trump and the Saudis and said the apartments weren’t just about making money. Ocampo said in court papers they were also about “access” to a new, potentially lucrative market in the Middle East.
Information obtained by the Daily News reveals that Donald’s connection to wealthy and influential Saudis didn’t start with the Trump World Tower deal.
In 1985, Osama Bin Laden’s half-brother Shafiq Bin Laden paid an $8,500 security deposit for an apartment in Trump Tower. Records indicate Shafiq — often described as the Westernized, polar opposite of Osama Bin Laden — lived there for four months in 1986.
That’s unusual since Donald has stated that as President, he would kill terrorists’ families.
Sean Hannity asked Donald recently if he “take money from the Saudis?” Mr. Liar Pants responded, “No.”
But last year, Donald said, “Saudi Arabia — and I get along great with all of them. They buy apartments from me. They spend $40 million, $50 million. Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much,” he added at the time.
Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s surrogate, has said that Hillary Clinton should publicly apologize for accepting Saudi cash for the foundation’s charitable work.
“I’d like to see her apologize for all the money that the Clinton Foundation has been taking, let’s say from Saudi Arabia, where women are not allowed to drive,” Giuliani said. “You tell me she’s a feminist and she takes money from a country where women are not allowed to drive?”
Well, Donald takes their money and it’s not for charitable reasons. Donald also has a cozy relationship with Vladimir Putin. Releasing his tax returns might help clear up speculation over what money he’s giving/getting from foreign countries.
Mike Pence said on NBC’s Meet The Press this morning that “Donald Trump and I are both going to release our tax returns.” But there’s a catch. You see, Pence said that he would be releasing his returns in the next week but Donald won’t release his until an audit is completed.
You can access Hillary Clinton’s tax returns online. She has released sixteen years of tax returns.
None of Donald’s taxes from 2008 or prior are presently under audit, and yet the GOP billionaire candidate still hasn’t released those returns.
Donald has hammered Clinton over the Saudi cash for her charity foundation, yet he’s taken in millions for self-serving purposes. Let’s see those tax returns, Sport.
