Donald J. Trump accepted the party’s nomination on the second night of the Republican National Convention. How fitting that a tweet from a white supremacist managed to make its way onto a giant f*cking marquee during the night’s festivities.
A tweet from VDARE.com was proudly displayed on a digital banner that wraps around the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland where the GOP’s grand shindig is being held. The tweet, which was caught on camera and posted to Twitter, praised Rep. Chris Collins for his comments on illegal immigration.
That’s right–that’s VDARE on the tweet-ticker inside the GOP convention hall in Cleveland. Up next: Ricky Vaughn. pic.twitter.com/VJ4os8r3DF

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, VDARE.com “regularly publishes articles by prominent white nationalists, race scientists and anti-Semites.” The SPLC lists the site’s affiliated nonprofit, the VDARE Foundation, as an “extremist group.”
Founded in 1999 by anti-immigrant activist and author Peter Brimelow, the Center for American Unity has served to promote the work of white supremacists, anti-Semites and others on the radical right.
It isn’t like this is the first time Trump and his bigoted campaign have been associated with white supremacists. Trump has been endorsed by former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard David Duke, who he then failed to denounce. White supremacists have been responsible for robocalls across the country on Trump’s behalf and he even had a white nationalist serving as a California delegate for awhile. Not to mention that he has retweeted white supremacists more than 75 times.
Here are a couple of excerpts from the racist and anti-Semitic vitriol featured on VDARE.com.
White nationalist writer Sam Francis wrote this on VDARE in 2003:
America was defined — almost explicitly, sometimes very explicitly — as a white nation, for white people, and what that means is that there is virtually no figure, no law, no policy, no event in the history of the old, white America that can survive the transition to the new and non-white version. Whether we will want to call the new updated version ‘America’ at all is another question entirely.
Kevin MacDonald, who believes that anti-Semitism is the only logical reaction to the Jewish supremacy that is so rampant in the U.S., wrote this for VDARE in 2006:
Jewish activity collectively, throughout history, is best understood as an elaborate and highly successful group competitive strategy directed against neighboring peoples and host societies. The objective has been control of economic resources and political power. One example: overwhelming Jewish support for non-traditional immigration, which has the effect of weakening America’s historic white majority.”
But don’t worry folks, Trump and the Republican party are totally not racist or anti-Semitic.
