This is pathetic and cowardly.
And it’s exactly what people around the world are going to think of the United States after transcripts of a phone call between Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May become more widely known.
As you may recall, Trump is hated in the United Kingdom. In fact, he is loathed so much that Parliament actually debated whether to ban him from entering the country after a petition was signed by enough people that the British government had to consider it.
Trump had demanded a ride to Buckingham Palace in a gold horse-drawn carriage, which would be problematic as it would require more money be spent on security and thousands of people would likely line the streets to protest him.
Well, Trump freaked out about the latter and decided to cancel the trip instead rather the let his fragile ego be shattered into a million pieces.
Apparently, May has been trying to get Trump to reschedule, but a recent conversation with Trump makes it clear that he doesn’t want to visit unless May goes full fascist against her own people.
“I haven’t had great coverage out there lately, Theresa,” Trump whined in reference to the British media.
“Well, you know what the British press are like,” May replied, bashing the free press in her own country.
And that’s when Trump demanded that May “fix it” and do something like what Poland did to make sure he only gets cheering crowds and wide praise during a trip to England.
“I still want to come, but I’m in no rush,” Trump continued. “So, if you can fix it for me, it would make things a lot easier. When I know I’m going to get a better reception, I’ll come and not before.”
Trump concluded that he won’t go to the United Kingdom unless “people support him coming.”
Trump is literally acting like a petulant child because most people don’t like him.
He just demanded that the British Prime Minister treat the British people and media like Kim Jong-Un treats the people and media in North Korea. He wants her to act like a dictator because his skin is too thin to handle criticism and opposition. Just for that, Parliament should definitely ban him from entering the United Kingdom. It’s something they should have done a long time ago.
