Stephen Hawking, the world-renowned physicist, issued a dire warning regarding Donald Trump’s idiotic decision to pull the United States out of the Paris Climate Accord. This move, he cautioned, could push the planet past the point of no return, “turning the Earth into Venus.”
We are close to the tipping point where global warming becomes irreversible,” Hawking told the BBC. “Trump’s action could push the Earth over the brink, to become like Venus, with a temperature of 250 degrees, and raining sulphuric acid.”
Hawking said that climate change is “one of the great dangers we face, and it’s one we can prevent if we act now.”
By denying the evidence for climate change, and pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement, Donald Trump will cause avoidable environmental damage to our beautiful planet, endangering the natural world, for us and our children,” Hawking noted.
This isn’t the first time that Hawking has spoken out against Trump and his dangerous policies that threaten the lives of the entire human species. In May of last year, Hawking, who is possibly the most brilliant man alive, said that while he may be able to figure out scientific truths that have baffled minds for centuries, he just can’t understand how the hell people can support a man like Trump. At the time, Hawking said that Trump is “a demagogue who seems to appeal to the lowest common denominator.”
In March, Hawking addressed Trump’s stance on climate change, which our idiot-in-chief once said was nothing more than a Chinese hoax. “Climate change is one of the great dangers we face, and it’s one we can prevent. It affects America badly, so tackling it should win votes for [Trump’s] second term, God forbid,” Hawking warned. He added that although “I have many friends and colleagues [in the US] and it is still a place I like and admire in many ways. But I fear that I may not be welcome.”
