It’s no big surprise that Ted Cruz is against having a free and open Internet, so today, he started a Twitter slap-fight with Luke Skywalker. Cruz tried to ‘smarm-splain’ not only the FCC’s decision to repeal Net Neutrality to Mark Hamill but he also tried to school him on Star Wars. The exchange went down about as well as you’d expect.
It all began with FCC chairman Ajit Pa’s video which featured a Pizzagate conspiracy theorist from the Daily Caller.
Pai thinks the public is stupid and he might be right because people like Ted Cruz aren’t the sharpest knives in the drawer.
Hamill took issue with Pai wielding a lightsaber in the video.
Cute video Ajit “Aren’t I Precious?” Pai 🤮-but you are profoundly unworthy 2 wield a lightsaber-A Jedi acts selflessly for the common man-NOT lie 2 enrich giant corporations. Btw-did you pay John Williams his royalty? @AjitPaiFCCorpShill #AJediYouAreNOT pic.twitter.com/SpIcOEySUY

Cruz, in an attempt to be hip, addressed ‘snowflakes’ on Net Neutrality.
Snowflake, believing online propaganda: “OMG w/o net neutrality, the Internet is gone!” Informed observer: “You know, the FCC issued that rule in 2015. The Internet grew up wonderfully free from govt regulation & this restores the status quo ante.” Snowflake: “Uh, never mind…”

Then Cruz went after Hamill, telling him to “reject the dark side.”
.@HammillHimself Luke, I know Hollywood can be confusing, but it was Vader who supported govt power over everything said & done on the Internet. That’s why giant corps (Google, Facebook, Netflix) supported the FCC power grab of net neutrality. Reject the dark side: Free the net! https://t.co/nARkMvIEYk

Hamill noticed that Cruz used the wrong handle when addressing him, then told him he must be ‘distracted from watching porn at the office again.’
Thanks for smarm-spaining it to me @tedcruz I know politics can be confusing, but you’d have more credibility if you spelled my name correctly. I mean IT’S RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF YOU! Maybe you’re just distracted from watching porn at the office again❤️-mh https://t.co/nHpJVG1Wpe

Hamill was referring to last September when Cruz was caught liking a porn tweet. Ajit Pai is the most hated guy on the Internet right now. I mean, aside from Donald Trump. This shouldn’t be a partisan issue and if you support a monumental a–hole like Pai, it kind of makes you one, too. We’re looking at you, Ted.
