Pope Francis is no fan of Donald Trump. And for the record, Trump is no Christian, not by any stretch of the imagination. On Saturday, the Pope took to Twitter and used the Bible to point out what an unChristian bigot Trump really is without ever even saying his name.
“How often in the Bible the Lord asks us to welcome migrants and foreigners, reminding us that we too are foreigners!” he wrote.

Trump wants to parade around and declare himself a Christian, meanwhile, he is telling everybody about his favorite passage in “two Corinthians.” (Insert eye roll here.) Jesus told us to do one thing, love our neighbor like we love ourselves. The Bible makes it very clear that we are supposed to care for the poor, the sick, and those in need.
This is not the first time Pope Francis has condemned Trump’s Muslim ban. In October, the Pope warned that “the sickness or, you can say the sin, that Jesus condemns most is hypocrisy.”
“You cannot be a Christian without living like a Christian. You cannot be a Christian without practicing the Beatitudes. You cannot be a Christian without doing what Jesus teaches us in Matthew 25. It’s hypocrisy to call yourself a Christian and chase away a refugee or someone seeking help, someone who is hungry or thirsty, toss out someone who is in need of my help. If I say I am Christian, but do these things, I’m a hypocrite.”
But Trump and his “Christian” supporters don’t give a damn what the Pope or the Bible says. Because this obviously doesn’t apply to refugees, right? Why would their loving god expect them not to turn away women and children fleeing their war-torn homes in desperation? What would Jesus do? I somehow doubt that he would back extreme vetting and Trump’s Muslim ban.
