Last year, Donald Trump showed up at extremely conservative college Liberty University to share his vision for America: A shining nation surrounded by a big, beautiful wall to keep the brown people out. Trump touted what he called a “record” crowd size at the university’s convocation, which students must attend or face fines and other punishments. As he endeavored to endear himself to the Christian students, Trump decided to bust out his “war on Christians” narrative, claiming that “Christianity, it’s under siege.”
Unfortunately, things went downhill for The Donald when he attempted to actually quote from the Bible. While Trump has previously been unable to name a single Bible verse he likes, and ultimately came up with a fake one, he was ready this time. There was no way he could screw this up — after all, he was pandering using Liberty’s official “School Verse,” which is plastered all over the campus.
“Two Corinthians, 3:17, that’s the whole ballgame,” Trump said, earning himself mockery and laughter from the students, who know how to properly say “Second Corinthians.” The billionaire managed to salvage some applause by reading the verse, “Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
On social media app YikYak, Liberty students had quite a bit of fun at the billionaire’s expense. “Trump pulling out scripture?” one asked. “What is this?” Another correctly pointed out that Trump was simply pulling out the Bible to pander, not because he is actually a Christian, while another earned accolades for remarking that “Trump is a fan of the Two Amendment.”
Trump was also mocked for his use of the word “hell,” which violated a campus policy against swearing — something that would have netted a student “reprimands and fines,” according to the university’s code of conduct.
“Mr. Trump, I’m afraid you need to put a quarter in the swear jar,” one commenter said.
Unfortunately, Trump showed himself to be one big joke that has run on too long, with most of us waiting for the punchline.

John Prager is an unfortunate Liberal soul who lives uncomfortably in the middle of a Conservative hellscape.
Prager spends much of his time poking Trump’s meth-addled, uneducated fans with a pointy stick and is currently writing a book of muskrat recipes (not really) as well as putting together a scrapbook of his favorite death threats. His life’s aspiration is to rule the world with an iron fist, or find that sock he’s been looking for.
