The threat of violence has hovered over the Republican National Convention ever since Donald Trump started gaining speed during the primary elections. Trump-ally Roger Stone even subtly threatened in April that he would give out room numbers where delegates were staying who hadn’t declared for Trump. Cleveland increased their police force’s riot gear by 2,000 uniforms, and the stadium the RNC will take place has taken out a $50 million “protest insurance policy” in the event that the convention turns ugly.
But now specific threats of violence are being sent to anti-Trump delegates, which not only undermines Democracy but stomps all over it.
The tweet below contains a screenshot of an email sent by Trump delegate Carl Paladino to unbound GOP delegate Stefani Williams:

The email threatens that Paladino will be in Williams’ face if she doesn’t bow to the orange master and vote to elect a reality TV star turned dumpster fire. He also suggests the delegate should be “hung for treason” even though she has every right to cast her vote for someone besides Trump. In fact, undermining the rights of other people to participate in our Democracy through threats of harm is treasonous in itself and emits that familiar stench of fascism Trump and his flock are always surrounded by.
Williams forwarded the email to WGRZ:
I don’t wish him ill, he is evidently very passionate in his support for his candidate, but threatening those he disagrees with is way out of line — especially considering he is a surrogate for a presidential candidate, a GOP delegate, and one of two New York representatives who sit on the GOP Convention Credentials Committee. I was completely taken aback by his email to me. It sounded like it came from a mobster.
Paladino did confirm he had written the email, saying the email was in regard to an open letter Williams had written denouncing Trump as the presumptive nominee of the GOP. He also issued a statement saying:
What the person was proposing is to encourage violation of the rules of the Republican Party under which Donald Trump rose legally to be the presumptive candidate. The person is being treacherous to the party in doing so and as such the colloquialism is appropriate and if the person’s underwear is all bunched up over his or her sensitivity to my reaction then tell the person if he or she can’t take the heat of what he or she dished out, then get out of the kitchen.
Paladino is an elected official of the Buffalo School Board since 2010. He’s the honorary co-chair in New York and introduced the candidate at rallies in Buffalo and Rochester, according to WGRZ.
Williams is also not the first person Paladino has threatened, Kim Fralick, a GOP delegate from Louisiana who is part of the “Free the Delegates” movement to block Trump’s nomination, also received a threatening email.
In an email chain, Paladino told Fralick, “your treacherous goal will not be forgotten KIM.” Fralick responded by saying “I certainly hope not!” To which Paladino responded to by telling her the movement was “like pissing up a drain pipe. You get wet. A revolt will never materialize.” And Paladino also told Fralick to get back on her meds.
Paladino also made headlines earlier this month for tweeting:
Lynch @LorettaLynch let a grand jury decide.
The tweet was deleted after 30 minutes.
The unhinged certainly seem to flock to Trump likes flies to shit.
Trump also predicted early on there would be “riots” if he wasn’t crowned king of the Republican Party, because if you can’t win the nomination process by the rules of the convention, just threaten violence, right? A group called “The Lion’s Guard” also volunteered to act as Trump’s unofficial security on the floor of the RNC.

Can this convention become any more of a clusterf*ck?
