This is proof that Donald Trump lied about supporting people of color.
Before Donald Trump spoke at a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday, security escorted Jake Anantha out of the building just because his skin color did not match that color of the rest of the Republican nominee’s supporters.
But that was a big mistake. Not only was the 18-year-old Anantha, an avid Trump supporter, his family was as well. Until now.
“It’s unbelievably ironic,” Jake’s father Ramesh Anantha told the Charlotte Observer. “He should have been looked at as a perfect Trump supporter. He should have been somebody they’re putting up on stage.”
Yes, Jake would have been perfect, especially since Trump used the event to tout his supposed support of minorities.
Jake had no problem with Trump’s hateful rhetoric, defended Trump against charges of racism, and praised his anti-immigration policy.
“When I saw him on TV, I personally didn’t mind his rhetoric,” he said. “I defended him. When people called him a racist, I said he’s a critic of our flawed immigration system. He’s strong on Islamic terrorism.”
So when Trump came to town on Friday to deliver a speech, Jake was excited to attend his first rally in support of his candidate. He even wore his Trump shirt for the occasion. But after he sat in his seat at the event, security showed up to remove him. “We know who you are. You’ve been at many other rallies,” security told him.
Again, Jake has never been to a Trump rally before. But he was removed anyway and the decision to remove Jake clearly came from a Trump staffer since the event was private and Trump’s campaign controls who is allowed to attend.
And that’s why Trump has lost the support of Jake and his family.
“I thought (Trump) was for all people,” Jake said. “I don’t believe he is for all people anymore. Why are all these white people allowed to attend and I’m not?”
Jake now intends to vote for Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson instead.
“It was a very rude introduction into the world of politics,” Ramesh Anantha, whose family moved to the United States from India, added. “We realize Donald Trump himself had nothing to do with this problem, but it’s the type of campaign he’s running.”
Donald Trump’s campaign is imploding so he needs every last supporter he can get. But even though his poll numbers are in the toilet, his own staffers alienated a Trump supporter simply because he didn’t have the right skin color.
Trump’s remaining minority supporters just learned a brutal lesson. Even when they support Trump, they are still treated like second-class citizens who don’t belong. They are not welcome. And Trump does not deserve a single vote from any of them.
