For those who weren’t watching the Oscars on Sunday, (because according to Trump, no one was watching), it was really amazing. It was a celebration of civil rights, with women and immigrants at the forefront.
I’m sure that like me, you were all surprised that we didn’t hear from our so-called “president” on Sunday, seeing as how the entire program was aimed at him and his policies. I personally stayed up until around 7 am on Monday morning, just to see if he would say anything… He was quiet, though. Until today.
In what we can only imagine was a drunken toilet tweet, Trump had the audacity to say this:
Lowest rated Oscars in HISTORY. Problem is, we don’t have Stars anymore – except your President (just kidding, of course)!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 6, 2018
Yeah. Because we’d ALL love to stare at him for over three hours while he berates women and people of color, thinking he’s some kind of “funny” guy. I would rather die, honestly. And the rest of the world felt the same.
The internet did NOT hold back and said EVERYTHING I was thinking. Well, not everything… But it was all pretty spot on:
You are a star (albeit, a C-level Reality TV one).
The problem is, we don’t have a President anymore.

Don’t quit your day job….oh wait, definitely quit your day job. Put your comedy on the road!

Where is your Oscar?

And this is probably my favorite response:
Smallest inauguration crowd…lowest approval of any POTUS entering office…lowest approval of any POTUS at this point in presidency..dead last on list of most popular presidents …Shall i go on? https://t.co/qSeqpTQBCH

I don’t care what the ratings say. I don’t care what this “president” says. If you sat and watched the Oscars with tears rolling down your face like I did, you would see that this “man” HATES the idea that anyone besides himself might have the spotlight. This man hates America.
If he was one of my young students back in the day, I’d feel sorry for him. Kids are often arrogant and ridiculous. But he’s a 72-year-old man and there’s no excuse for this behavior.
Trump needs to get a grip. We see right through you, sir.
