Donald Trump apparently forgot that he’s a draft dodger who “likes people who weren’t captured.”
In yet another effort to convince everyone that his presidency has not been an overwhelming embarrassment, Trump posted on Twitter Friday morning claiming that Veteran’s Affairs is improving and that his administration is getting things done at a record pace, ending the post by declaring his love of veterans.
We are making tremendous progress with the V. A. There has never been so much done so quickly, and we have just started. We love our VETS!

However, the reality is that Trump’s first 100 days has been a complete failure. The only thing he has done more of during his first three months is sign executive orders, the most by any president since World War II. And those orders have been nothing but destructive to our country.
Also, Trump is claiming credit for something that began under President Obama.
In 2014, President Obama signed a $16.3 billion Veteran’s Affairs reform bill into law allowing veterans to seek medical care outside VA facilities and provided money for the VA to hire more doctors and nurses to alleviate the wait times veterans faced.
“As a country, we have a sacred obligation to serve you as well as you served us,” Obama said. “We are going to spend each and every day working to do right by you and your families.”
The law was working. And President Obama’s administration deserves the credit for the “tremendous progress” being made at the VA. But Trump has stymied much of that progress.
Trump has done much to hurt veterans and their families.
Thousands of veterans would lose their health insurance, which includes mental healthcare, if the Affordable Care Act is repealed, something Trump has made a top priority.
Trump’s hiring freeze also hurt veterans by preventing thousands of jobs at the VA, including doctors and nurses, from being filled.
And Twitter users were quick to remind Trump about his past actions and statements that make it clear that he doesn’t really care about those who have fought for our country, beginning with the fact that Trump refused to serve during Vietnam.

@realDonaldTrump Don’t love them enough to let them have preexisting conditions included in their healthcare though, do you Donald?

Donald Trump’s “love” of veterans is totally phony and he just got his ass handed to him for it.
