Donald Trump has spent the entire weekend having a meltdown because his Russia scandal is coming to a head — and he only got worse on Sunday.
In an early morning Twitter rant, Trump actually blamed the recent stock market loss on the media, targeting ABC News in particular. He brought up ABC’s recent erroneous report about Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, stating that it had cost people money and that they should sue the network.
People who lost money when the Stock Market went down 350 points based on the False and Dishonest reporting of Brian Ross of @ABC News (he has been suspended), should consider hiring a lawyer and suing ABC for the damages this bad reporting has caused – many millions of dollars!”
Brian Ross has already been suspended over the problematic report, which had stated that former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn would testify that Trump ordered him to make contact with Russian officials during his 2016 presidential campaign. ABC later corrected the report, saying that Trump asked Flynn “to find ways to repair relations with Russia and other hot spots” in the transition period.
The report had caused U.S. stocks to plunge, which also happened to be on the same day that Flynn pleaded guilty to lying about his contacts with a Russian official. However, Trump’s attack on the network is extremely unprofessional and only deepens the tense relationship between him and the media.
Unlike Trump, ABC actually admitted to its mistake and took swift action to correct it and reprimand those who were responsible. We can’t say the same for Trump and his corrupt White House and campaign team. As usual, Trump is nervous as hell about Mueller’s narrowing investigation, so he’s doing everything in his power to place blame and distraction elsewhere. Trump’s days are numbered, and he knows it.
