Desperate for approval, Donald Trump has just taken back his own statements about whether or not Russia interfered with the 2016 election.
For the past year, Trump has continuously decided to take the side of his BFF, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and what he did recently was no different. Despite the overwhelming evidence and agreement from all U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia meddled in the U.S. election, Trump once again refused to believe America’s intel and instead defended Putin.
In speaking with reporters on Air Force One, Trump said that he believed Putin because the Russian leader said he didn’t meddle:
He said he didn’t meddle. He said he didn’t meddle. I asked him again. You can only ask so many times. I just asked him again.
He said he absolutely did not meddle in our election, he did not do what they are saying he did.
Well, look, I can’t stand there and argue with him, I would rather have him get out of Syria, to be honest with you.”
But on Saturday, Trump completely changed his tone and sides with U.S. intel for the first time in his presidency. Showing how insane and mentally unstable he is, Trump completely contradicted his previous statements (which were made just a day or two before) and said he did NOT believe Putin. At a press conference in Vietnam, Trump said:
I believe he believes that. I believe he feels that he and Russia did not meddle in the election. As to whether I believe it or not, I’m with our agencies, especially as currently constituted. I believe in our intel agencies. I have worked with them very strongly… I believe very much in our intelligence agencies.”
It’s like he doesn’t even remember that he’s been trashing U.S. intel and kissing Putin’s a** for the last year. This is a completely different tone than what Trump has given U.S. intel agencies throughout his own presidency. You can watch Trump backtrack below:
