After all of the breaking news Monday morning, it’s hard to sort out what matters and what doesn’t, what’s big news and what’s maybe not so big. Fortunately, there are seasoned veterans of the Trump resistance who do nothing but look at stuff like this all day, poring over documents looking for pertinent facts.
Kurt Eichenwald of Newsweek is one such reporter. And he knows that the average person has neither the time nor the inclination to read a bunch of legalese that they’d have to have memorized the entire timeline of the Russia investigation in order to understand.
So when the news dropped Monday that former Trump adviser George Papadopoulos entered a guilty plea three weeks ago in order to strike a deal with Robert Mueller’s special counsel team, there was a lot of mumbo-jumbo that you and I might not get without a little explanation.
If u dont want to read all of the Papadopoulos charges – which are what HE is saying — here are a few jaw-dropping excerpts. pic.twitter.com/FeJTL3xm7s

Here’s what those excerpts are (and you can click each one to enlarge):
That “Senior Policy Advisor” might be familiar to you. It’s the guy who writes Trump’s speeches, and a personal friend of white supremacists Sebastian Gorka and Steve Bannon, both of whom have already been dismissed from Trump’s inner circle.
But Stephen Miller remains. He is a 32-year-old wunderkind of the entire Trump strategy, pivotal in everything that Trump does. And it turns out that he knew all along, through emails with this guy who took a plea deal three weeks ago and is looking for a way to reduce his prison time.
Donald Trump and Stephen Miller better buckle up for what’s going to be a VERY rocky day and what’s sure to be a difficult road ahead for their defense team.
