A brave (LOL) Trump supporter decided to take on a 12-year-old boy to debate him after the kid had finished speaking at a city council meeting. Joseph Moreno was confronted by an angry Trump supporter who was wearing a Trump flag in Huntington Park, California, and started yelling “American! American!” at people who were leaving the meeting.
Outside of the event hall, the man asked Moreno if he was an American and the boy said, “I was born here, but I am also half-Mexican.” The man, who said the boy was “brainwashed” went on to ask “Can you vote over there [in Mexico]?” “Of course I would vote.. but I can’t because I’m 12!”
“Of course I would vote.. but I can’t because I’m 12!” Moreno shot back.
People Magazine reports:
The man, who said the boy was “brainwashed” went on to ask “Can you vote over there [in Mexico]?”. Moreno followed with, “Of course I would vote.. but I can’t because I’m 12!”
The man continued to ask the boy several times if he can vote in Mexico, seemingly unaware that children can’t vote.
The boy said that Trump is a “racist” which prompted the angry man to raise his raised voice. The boy responded, saying, “How is he not a racist? He called Mexicans rapists, drug dealers… I’m standing up for my people. When you’re backing down on them, I’m standing up for them.”
“I’m a racist? I’m a racist?” the man yelled at Moreno. “You have no idea, you’re just a little boy!”
“Actually, I have an idea, because if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have gotten high honors,” the boy responded.
“Hey, it’s not worth fighting a little kid,” Moreno added.
At the end of the debate, Moreno looked into the camera and called the Trump supporters “bad-mannered” for fighting with a 12-year-old.
The 12-year-old activist has made the news before. It was just last month that Moreno was featured by the Los Angeles Times for taking part in May Day protests with a specific message on his sign for Trump. “If you build a wall, my generation will knock it down,” the sign read.
“If they mess with our community, if they mess with our culture, we will not stay silent,” he told the paper. “From students to adults, we will come out and speak out for what we believe in.”
Trump supporters believe they can speak up for white culture in our diverse society while trying to shut down a child for speaking up for his culture which Trump has attacked.
