Stephen Colbert lit up Donald Trump and his supposed physician Dr. Harold Bornstein on Monday night.
For weeks, the Republican nominee and his minions have been trying to convince voters that Hillary Clinton is sick based on zero evidence in an effort to claim that she is incapable of performing the duties of the presidency.
This has led to renewed questions about Trump’s health, both physical and mental.
At the center of the questions is a letter produced by Trump in December signed by Bornstein alleging that he is in “astonishingly excellent” health and would be the healthiest president in history.
“Bornstein proved he’s a true gastroenterologist because the letter seems like he yanked it from where the sun don’t shine,” Colbert quipped.
“And a note from his doctor should be enough,” Colbert continued, “because that’s how he got out of Vietnam.”
Colbert then took aim at Bornstein’s claim that all of Trump’s lab results came back “positive.”
Positive results are always good. Blood pressure? Positive! Cholesterol? Positive! Chlamydia? Positive!”
That last result may not be too far-fetched either considering Trump once said that sleeping around was his “personal Vietnam” because he apparently didn’t use protection.
A real doctor even expressed the same concerns on CNN last week.
“Lab results aren’t reported as being ‘astonishingly excellent’ or not — we give lab values of positive or negative,” Dr. Jennifer Gunter explained to Chris Cuomo. “Then there’s the fact that he says all of Mr. Trump’s results are positive — which, of course, would be a bad thing. When I tell someone they have gonorrhea, when they have a positive test for gonorrhea, they’re not happy about that. That’s not ‘astonishingly excellent.’”
Colbert then slammed Bornstein’s excuse that he felt “rushed” while writing it because Trump had a driver waiting for him.
“Rushed, anxious, five minutes, driver waiting,” Colbert observed. “You definitely want the candidate’s physical to sound like losing your virginity on prom night.”

Hillary Clinton’s doctor released a detailed report on her health so it’s time for Donald Trump to do the same. If his health is as good as he claims then he should have no problem getting a thorough examination by a top-flight physician. In addition, since he has been questioning Hillary’s brain health, he should also submit to a psychological exam to see if he is mentally fit to serve as president.
And if Tump whines he has nobody to blame except himself for unfounded claims about Hillary’s health in the first place. He’s the one who opened this door. Now he has to deal with it.
