So, Donald Trump made a YUGE mistake yesterday and we all got to see it unfold on live television. The Republican presidential candidate took a trip to Flint, Michigan in a sad attempt to look like he cares about the suffering of the people who were poisoned by their state government, it went very badly and now he is in attack mode.
First of all, Flint Mayor Karen Weaver told the billionaire that she did not want him disrupting her city for a photo-op and he ignored her. When he arrived in the city, he took a whole 15 minute tour of one of the water plant’s responsible for the lead contamination and then went on to speak at an African-American church. At the church everything went downhill.
While speaking to a mostly empty congregation, Trump decided that he was going to attack Hillary Clinton. He got two insults in and suddenly Pastor Faith Green-Timmons of Bethel United Methodist Church stepped up on the stage and politely told him to cut the political bullshit out. Trump, obviously flustered, smiled awkwardly and started speaking about Flint’s water crisis (it was obvious he had no idea what was really happening in the city, by the way). The clip of Trump being interrupted by the pastor was played over and over again Wednesday evening and on Thursday morning the GOP candidate spoke out about it.
During an interview with Fox & Friends, Trump told the hosts that he believes he was being sabotaged by the sweet pastor:
Something was up because I noticed she was so nervous when she introduced me. She called NBC, ABC…When she got up to introduce me, she was so nervous. She was shaking and I said, ‘Wow, this is strange.’ She came up. So she had that in mind, there’s no question about it.
Well that settles it! Pastor Green-Timmons was OBVIOUSLY trying to ruin Donald Trump’s day by keeping him on the topic that he said he was in the city for. How dare she make Trump talk about how he is going to help the people of Flint if he is elected?! She’s so unreasonable!
It is just like Trump to attack people who expect better from a presidential candidate than he is willing to give. Any time he faces the slightest bit of criticism he lashes out like a man-child and proves that he has no business being anywhere near the White House.
