Last week, basketball superstar Dwyane Wade’s cousin, Nykea Aldridge, was gunned down in Chicago while pushing a baby stroller down the road. Most people who heard about the story thought it was horrifying and expressed their condolences to Wade’s family — except Donald Trump.
Trump heard about the murder and decided that he would use it to discuss…himself.
Dwyane Wade's cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago. Just what I have been saying. African-Americans will VOTE TRUMP!

This is the same thing he did after the Orlando massacre that left 49 people dead and more than fifty injured. It is the same thing he did after the attack on Nice, France and he has used countless other tragedies to drum up support for his presidential campaign and pat himself on the back. When we saw Trump’s tweet about Nykea’s murder, we were repulsed. He somehow managed to make us think even less of him (Who would have thought?). But we weren’t the only ones who were upset by it, Dwyane Wade was too.
In an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Wade was asked what he thought of Trump’s tweet and he responded:
I was grateful that it started a conversation but on the other hand, it just left a bad taste in my mouth because of what my family is dealing with and what our city of Chicago is dealing with and it looks like it’s being used as political gain.
It was absolutely being used for Trump’s political gain and that’s what makes it so horrible. Trump thought that if he spoke out about it, that it would somehow show African-Americans–who he is polling zero percent with– that he was their guy. He thought that it would somehow erase all of the horrible racism of his campaign and he’d suddenly be polling at a bazillion percent with them. He was wrong.
The only thing this tweet demonstrated was that he is absolutely, unequivocally not presidential material–he is just a narcissistic asshole.
