Donald Trump constantly claims that working people should vote for him because he has their best interests at heart. President Obama thinks that is hilarious considering Trump spends his time avoiding them.
The Republican nominee often uses undocumented immigrants as laborers and has punished workers who try to form a labor union to fight for better pay and working conditions. Trump is also known for stiffing contractors on contracts, which takes money out of working people’s pockets.
And that’s exactly why President Obama laughed at the idea that Trump is a “champion” for working people during a rally for Hillary Clinton on Tuesday.
“I keep on reading this analysis that, well, you know, Trump has support from ,like, workin’ folks,” Obama began.
“Really?” he asked.
This is the guy you want to be championing working people? This guy who spent 70 years on this earth showing no concern for working people. This guy is suddenly going to be your champion? He’s spent most of his life trying to stay as far away from working people as he could. And now this guy is going to be the champion of working people? I mean, he wasn’t going to let on his golf course. He wasn’t going to let you buy-in his condo. And now suddenly this guy is going to be your champion?

President Obama knows all about being a champion for working people. After all, he has overseen an unprecedented streak of over 70 straight months of job growth and given more people access to health insurance. In addition, median income has risen 5.2 percent and the poverty rate has dropped.
Hillary Clinton will continue to improve the lives of working people and will protect those gains from being destroyed by Republicans and the greedy businessman they picked to be the leader of their party.
