That moment when you know that a politician is totally owned just happened between Donald Trump and his pick for Vice President, and it tells us everything we need to know.
In a moment that demonstrates that if the Republican nominee wanted someone to wipe his ass for him, Mike Pence would come running just like Chris Christie did when Trump wanted someone to pick up his takeout.
During the duo’s interview on 60 Minutes, Leslie Stahl asked Mike Pence if he agrees with Trump that Arizona Senator John McCain is not a hero because he was captured and tortured during the Vietnam War.
Pence claimed to have “respect” for McCain, but the Indiana Governor soon leaned in toward his new master to find out what he should say after Stahl asked him if Trump crossed the line.
PENCE: “I have a great deal of respect for John McCain…”
STAHL: “Do you think he went too far?”
TRUMP: “You could say yes. That’s OK. On that one you could say yes. It’s fine. Hey, look, I like John McCain. But we have to take care of our vets.”
Stahl then turns to Pence and asks him point-blank if he “would do something like that” to a war hero who literally cannot raise his arms above his shoulders due to the torture he suffered through.
At that point, Pence avoided answering the question and claimed that he can go to Trump anytime and voice his opinion and that Trump will listen to him. Oh, and Pence made sure he kissed Trump’s ass.
I promise you that when the circumstances arise where I have a difference on policy or on presentation, I can tell you in my heart, I know I would have no hesitation, were I privileged to be vice president, to walk into the president’s office, close the door, and share my heart. And I also know this good man would listen, and has the leadership qualities to draw from the people around him.

Donald Trump didn’t pick Pence because he has core beliefs and a mind of his own. He picked him because he wants a “yes-man” who will gladly sacrifice his own stances in order to advance up the political ladder. Becoming Vice President literally puts Pence within one heartbeat away from being the most powerful man in the world, and apparently he is willing to lick Trump’s shoes until they are nice and shiny so that he can get there.
Donald Trump owns Mike Pence and this interview proves it. He couldn’t even do the right thing and disagree with Trump’s opinion about a war veteran who served this country with distinction and nearly sacrificed his life fighting for it. John McCain was tortured and suffered in pain while Trump sought every deferment he could find to stay out of Vietnam and keep womanizing. Mike Pence is a damn coward and he should be ashamed of himself.
