According to a new memo dated December 6, 2017 from Rep. Elijah Cummings to Rep. Trey Gowdy, the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, there is evidence that disgraced former General Mike Flynn was making deals involving Russia literally as Trump was being sworn in.
In a scorching letter, Rep. Cummings points out Gowdey’s intransigence on the Benghazi hearings and his refusal to hear previous evidence uncovered by Cummings, who is the ranking Democrat on the committee. He warns Gowdey that continuing to refuse to accept new evidence on the burgeoning scandal between Trump and Russia will put a permanent scar on the reputation of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
And what evidence it is, people.
The whistleblower, whose identity obviously is unknown at this point, met with an associate of General Flynn — one Alex Copson, the manager of ACU Strategic Partners, who had been working with Flynn on a plan crafted jointly with Russia to build nuclear reactors in the Middle East. Copson himself already confirmed to Rep. Cummings all the way back in June that his company did indeed reimburse Flynn for a related trip to the Middle East two years earlier, including accommodations and “lost income” he suffered while away on business for ACU.
But that plan had stalled.
So although Copson didn’t mention nuclear reactors by name, he had already confirmed that they were the subject of his ongoing efforts with Russia to build them.
That part right there is Alex Copson admitting that (a) Obama’s sanctions against Russia were preventing people from making money, and (b) that it was the intention of Flynn — HEAD of Trump’s NatSec team at the time — to ensure that the sanctions would go away.
As Opposition Report has previously covered, this is literally exactly what every report on this entire investigation has been driving at: That Team Trump made a deal with Russia to make sanctions disappear in exchange for helping to hand Donald Trump the presidency.
There’s really not any question any longer whether or not the collusion happened OR whether Donald Trump knew about it. All that’s left to answer is how many more people in the administration will go down with him for having known beforehand.
