Domino’s Pizza has permanently lost a customer and gained some harsh criticism after a sexist, vulgar note that was left on a receipt went viral.
Keenyatta Robinson discovered the offensive note when her daughter ordered a pizza from a Domino’s in West Bloomfield, Michigan. In looking at the receipt, one thing, in particular, stood out and it wasn’t the price: It was three shocking words that read “f*ck this c*nt”.
Robinson couldn’t believe her eyes, and wanted to believe it was an accident. In an interview with WXYZ TV, she said:
I don’t understand why they would treat me this way.”
To try to find out whether the offensive language on the receipt was deliberate or not, Robinson put another order in and encountered the same issue! She explained, “When I came to pick it up that receipt had the same vulgar language.”
To make matters worse, Robinson thinks this incident might have been related to a complaint she placed in 2014 when she didn’t get the sausage pizza she ordered. Robinson believes that the manager she complained to may have done this in retaliation after she notified his superiors that he told her she wouldn’t be served ever again at the restaurant.
When Ronnie Asmar, Director of Operations at Domino’s, heard about what happened to Robinson, he was quick to clarify that the manager she dealt with in 2014 had been fired, predictably, for treating the customers poorly. However, before that manager left he made sure to leave a reminder. Asmar said:
His parting gift to us was putting that vulgar comment in her phone number’s notes.”
Unfortunately, the employees who handled Robinson’s order didn’t notice the comment on the receipt until she alerted them. In response, Asmar tried to apologize and make up for the mishap by offering Robinson a gift certificate, but Robinson is fed up with the restaurant. She turned down the certificate and said, “I will never eat here again. Ever. In my lifetime.”
